Covention Location Idea

Postby Tom » Fri Jul 28, 2006 12:08 pm

Just a thought But maybe a a tucker convention in Dallas or Fort Worth Texas. There are tons of places to have this convention with nice hotels in the areas and plenty of restaraunts Dallas has the West End, American Airlines Center, Deep Ellum, with live bands etc. There are places for indoor shows etc. Texas weather gets hot dont want any heat strokes. just wondering what people think. It just seems all the conventios are up North or on the coast never in the middle. what do people think. Just an idea.

Convention locations are chosen with a few guidelines:

1- Availability of Car(s)
2- Affordability of Accomodations
3- Volunteer Convention Hosts

We did hold a Convention in San Antonio, Texas in 2000.

Everyone wants a Convention in their home town but no one wants to do the legwork to plan and execute the Convention. History has taught us that the Conventions in the midwest generally bring the best attendance.

I'm very excited to see that a convention is coming to the East Coast, and for 2007! I will definitely find my way there. Any idea when this will take place? I need to start making plans NOW!!!

I'm going to be in Maryland in May for a Model Car Show. Hopefully the ride won't be too bad and it will be feasable to go back down.

I'd really like to see one in the Northeast (of cource, I do call it home so I'm biased) like Lake George or Saratoga NY...Maybe the Saratoga Automobile Museaum would host it...I hear they have the GTO convention in 2008...Due to laws of physics, that's got to attract more cars, and therefor people, then this would, being that there are hundreds more GTOs then there ever were Tuckers...

If you are interested in having a future convention in Dallas I live in the area and would be more than happy to do any of the "legwork" necessary to make it possible.

When is a Tucker event coming to Minnesota? I'd love to see a Tucker at MSRA Back to the 50s at the State Fairgrounds. MSRA is helping keeping both the antique car and the street rod hobby alive in the midwest, as well as ensuring that many old cars remain safe and legal so that no one ever touches them. There are also many, many MSRA Tucker fans. Some have seen a real one in their lifetime, many have not.
